Mercy Shumi Foundation NPC, is a registered Non-Profit Company committed to "Extending Mercy, Empowering Lives". Our mission is to uplift vulnerable children, youth, women, the elderly, and unemployed community members in Masotsheni Area Ward 14, Nquthu Local Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal, through education, nutrition, skills development, and community empowerment. Our community faces significant socio-economic challenges, including high unemployment, poverty, food insecurity, school drop outs, and limited access to educational and skills development opportunities. Many children attend school without adequate nutrition, while elderly residents often struggle to meet their basic daily needs. Despite these challenges, Mercy Shumi Foundation continues to create sustainable solutions through initiatives that include: *Community nutrition and food relief programmes. *Skills development in partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal Community Education (CET) College. *Educational support for youth and adults. *Community development and volunteer programmes. *Mandela Day outreach projects. *Future development of an elderly care home (Shumi Golden Haven). *School support initiatives and infrastructure improvements. The Foundation recently achieved a major milestone through the official sod-turning ceremony for a future CET Campus, demonstrating our commitment to bringing education and opportunity closer to rural communities.
