About Karoo Artisan Bakery
Karoo Artisan Bread is part of a larger Social Enterprise called Profit with Purpose. Created to bring financial independence for women in the Eastern Cape; a very poor, rural part of South Africa.
Training in artisan baking skills and business management skills has turned Deserey from a domestic worker into a happy baker and business-woman. She sings to the dough as she makes it into delicious loaves, batons and baguettes. And you can taste the difference!
